I am Sandy.

When we started this page were Sandy & Al Abrams alone. Now, our son, Steve, and his wonderful wife, Shelley have joined forces with us to provide an even better experience for everyone who has any contact with us.  Steve began using the products when we first started the business in 1970 when he was still a teenager.  He and now Shelley is truly knowledgeable about our products and this wonderful business.

Until the Paradise, CA Camp fire, we lived in that small mountain town.  It really was a paradise.  Now we live just down the hill in Chico. Al & I enjoy classical music as well as music from the 1940s and 60s and old-fashioned musicals.  We like theater and reading.  Meeting new friends is a favorite activity. 

At the time we found Shaklee, I was a young totally exhausted mother of 5 children ages 8 to 15.  We were not really a sickly family, but with 7 of us, things happened.  I was on a first name basis with the pharmacist. I had allergies that forced me to use anti-histamines, literally every day of the year.  Now, for over 40 of the ensuing years, neither Al nor I have had a single prescription to cure anything and I have not needed an anti-histamine for even longer.  

Hi, this is Shelley.

Steve & I were married in 1980. Shaklee is how we met. Since then, moved to Washington in 2013 from southern California, where we grew up, met, and lived the first 33 years of our marriage. We moved up here to get a “fresh start”, first in Seattle for 4 years, then to Camas on the Washington/Oregon border for a year, and then bought a home in May 2018 in Longview.  We live out of town, with open space all around us.

From long before Steve & I were married, we have always enjoyed being in the outdoors. We even spent the majority of our dating years and early marriage doing something outdoors. Then as we graduated from college and our professional careers took off, we worked many long hours, more than the normal 9-5. We became very grateful for the times we could get outside. And each time we took a trip we saw why conservation is so important.  For me, it was as simple as wanting to preserve what we saw – natural beauty, wildlife, and views! You don’t have to wear only cotton clothes and Birkenstock for shoes to be environmentally aware. The fact is, if a lot of people do something small, it adds up to something really big. This is what Shaklee is all about. Letting each of us do something good for the environment and sharing this with others.

Another side of Shaklee are the Nutritional products. We are AARP qualified and are very active and rarely get sick.  Both of us used to get a few colds each year and the flu wasn’t uncommon.  Since starting a nutritional program, we rarely get sick anymore.   We also have a lot more energy to do the things we enjoy (like going to the mountains or the coast), especially now that both of us are retired (early).

Our Shaklee business is not just a home-based business; it is a way of life. Since 1970 Shaklee products have always performed flawlessly for us.  We’ve seen important improvements in our family’s health and well-being with the use of food supplements, non-toxic cleaners, and our other non-toxic, health-promoting products.

One of the most exciting parts of our business is being able to share a way to earn an income that meets individual & family goals, as well as providing education about natural nutrition, and green living.  Even if someone has only a limited amount of time to devote to their business, we can tailor an individual program just for them.
